WITH reference to the letter from the Marquess of Salisbury of the 30th December, 1899, to your Grace's predecessor, I have the honour to transmit, for your information, a copy of a despatch from His Majesty's Minister at Peking respecting the abolition of the official status of Roman Catholic clergy in China.
